This is possibly one of our fave luxury family resorts as there is so much for families to do, from toddler age through to teenager.
The main buffet is plentiful but there are a host of a la cartes also to eat from. The buffet even has weaning food in the fridges so do email ahead to see what they have and if it suits as it may cut down on some packing). The kids club is welcoming and full of fun activities, including banana boat rides and horse riding (some activities you'll have to pay extra for), and the area itself is an air-conditioned have with freestyle Lego stations, fridges of water and milkshakes, and a TV to let little ones unwind. The kids' entertainment (and beyond) is run by the highly energetic Attila (seriously, hats off to the energy he brings!) with mini discos and shows in one of the largest amphitheatres I've ever seen on a family holiday. The shows are all well designed with huge sets and detailed costumes whilst the slightly lower key mini disco is also very well run and high energy. Did I mention their train that also goes around the resort a number of times a day? Or the games room with free arcade games, pool tables and a mini bowling alley (three lanes but you don't have to wait long)? Oh, and the football academy with a proper coach and proper drills and training for children five years and under (again, extra cost, but our little one loved the lessons even in some very extreme heat!)? There are also other entertainment pieces that are free and go on around the site, but you're never pressured to join in.
There are a number of coffee shops with all sorts of coffees and cakes / macarons (all free) and a number of bars, often with live evening entertainment which is the perfect way to unwind. Particularly impressive is the bar at the end of the jetty so you can have a snack and a drink whilst watching the sunset or the crashing waves. Ice creams are also on tap at many of the bars as well.
The swimming pools are all clean and well managed with lifeguards at regular points and free swim nappies should you need them.
If you haven't looked into Calista yet please do as it's a fantastic place with so much to do!
