So this was our 2nd time with Sleeps 12 and just like our week in ‘Fuzzy Orchard’, ‘Ham Bottom’ didn’t disappoint (they’re great names aren’t they?).

 

Based in the beautiful Somerset countryside are a cluster of beautifully designed houses all (unsurprisingly!) that sleep 12 (to 14 if including cots). And these places are geared to families. Beautifully designed with big kitchen tables, open plan kitchens, en suites to every room and 2 sitting areas these rental ‘cottages’ (the word doesn’t do them justice) are perfectly designed for families. Stair gates adorn the stairs, kids’ cutlery and crockery can be found in the kitchen, cots, high chairs etc all available - nothing seems too much trouble. And outdoors each property has a very large trampoline, slide and climbing frame combo, rope tyre swings and a large outdoor space with football goals. Throw in an indoor heated swimming pool (though note little people won’t be able to put their feet on the floor), sauna, outdoor hot tub (sheltered for all weather use) and a separate BBQ shack (coal based in case you feel like venturing away from the regular BBQ outdoors) and it’s simply a paradise for both children and parents alike.

The properties are cleaned to an excellent standard and the owners (who live on site) couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. We’ve booked the property for 2 special occasions with the whole family (cousins and grandparents) and it was worth every single penny. Throw in lots to do locally and it’s a lovely break for the entire family.
